Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being in new environments in any way or shape experimenting doing new things is a great way of breaking the comfort zones and learning about myself. Let's share the vagabond spirit.

I am from a small village in the north of the Netherlands. The place did not have more than 5000 people (more cows and sheep haha). It was really safe and cozy environment to grow up in. But as described very nicely in the book 'Call of the wild' by Jack London; What's beyond this?! It began by studying in the awesome city of Delft which was a big step outwards in an international environment. Many challenges came along for learning so much in new environments. But life happens outside the known boundaries, so I kept it moving, moved to Norway to experience life abroad. Ever since I've been traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

The 60's and 70's man :) Led Zeppelin, Clapton, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Iron Maiden, B Sabbath, Rock/blues/folk.

I like to read books to understand habits of the mind. These days my interest is going for untimely psychology/philosophy.

Regarding movies there to many great films but The Matrix is ranked high, just like Fight Club, movies which are leave you with a big 'huh?!', love it. I also highly recommend the series Rectify which I think is like a moving philosophical poem.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'll never forget the first time I went out to an unknown country on my own to hike for a few weeks in the mountains. This was like an internal expansion of the life I lived up to that point. It's great to expand

I can perhaps teach you a vegan dish or two, share a song on the guitar, tell a poem, ask you a personal question ;)
