Overview
About Me
I'm a research engineer in humanoid robotics (robots with human shape and size), and a very passionate mountaineer and climber.
So far, I've lived abroad a fair amount:
- I grew up in the most fantastic rainy place in the world: the beautiful Bretagne!
- Dublin for a year as an ERASMUS student. Best. Time. Ever!
- Munich for 6 month, for an internship at TUM.
- Japan for 9 months as part of my PhD. Amazing country, where I discovered rock climbing, and got to play with cool humanoid robots.
- Also lived in Antibes for two years and currently Montpellier
Other than that, traveled around not as much as I'd like to.
- Scotland, Heberdies, England on my own.
- Norway quite often (I have a sister living there).
- Hokkaido (I ended up going to a karate class full of cute Japanese kids with my host, and giving an English lesson at another host home !)
- Randomly decided at around midnight that it'd be a good idea to bring breakfast to a friend in Fukuoka, so I ended up spending the night at the airport, and taking the 5am plane :)
Also, I played the Oboe for eight years during my youth and teenage years. Haven't played for a long while, but I'm considering starting to play again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's wonderful how your travels suddenly become so much more interesting when you get to meet local inhabitants, share their knowledge, meet up with their friends, and so much more.
I've been couch surfing many times, mainly in Ireland, and had so many incredible experiences. During my summer in Dublin, I managed to host 18 groups of people in 3 month, that was such a blast!

"Any road followed to its end leads precisely nowhere. Climb the mountain just a little to test it's a mountain. From the top of the mountain, you cannot see the mountain." -- Bene Gesserit proverb, "Dune"
"Not all who wander are lost" J.R.R. Tolkien
" The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say. " J.R.R Tolkien
"Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving." T.Pratchett
TV Show: Father Ted, Black Adder, The IT Crowd, Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, Firefly....
I like rock/indie music, far too may groups to list them here! But here are some of them: ACDC, Arctic Monkeys, Archive, The Shins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Clash, Blue Oyster Cult, The Beatles, Oasis, The Kinks...
A lot of less known amazing bands as well : The Misunderstood, Modern Faces, Citizens!, Epsilon, Ciao Basta...
Celtic music is also awesome!
