ABOUT ME

My spirituality is inspired by my awareness of nature around me as I experience it through all my senses. This creates a powerful connection to my artwork and thinking. Art is passion and passion is the essence of my life!
I was born in Manchester in 1962 where my roots are firmly anchored. We are open friendly people with a wicked dry Northern sense of humour. When just 7 ½ yrs old my family moved to Scarborough, a seaside town in the North Yorkshire Moors region. This is a beautiful area popular with tourists. The hues of the moors, old thatched cottages are the subjects of many artists as well as the quaint seaside villages along the coast. Summer holidays were spent camping way up North in the wilds of Scotland. This is a mystical place with its castles hiding tales of damsels in distress. The scenery is one to savour creating feelings of serenity and wonderment.
For the last eight years I’ve been in a new phase of my life. My inner soul and spirits have gradually begun to emerge like a beautiful Ulysses from its chrysalis. New Zealand’s scenic beauty, the Maori culture and the rejuvenation of my mind, body and soul has strongly influenced the style of my most recent artwork.

Nurture – letting go and peeling away the layers
Adventure – free the spirit and passions within my soul

My passions are slowly being unleashed,
unfurling like the fronds of a silver fern.
I’m screaming to be liberated
from the shackles of educational institutions.
Oh, let my spirit be free to soar
and follow it’s own unique pathway!
Peace and tranquility wash over me,
giving me glimpses of the journey ahead.
My mind and body are being rejuvenated,
as the karma of the retreat seeps through my veins.
I’m now open to new experiences and adventures,
as I create my unique set of life footprints.
