About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A zen state of mind

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Aron!E-N-T-P and all that this label entails. I'm a dork, laughing at the absurd, silly, self-deprecating and satirical; a dirty hippie, sympathizing with socialist libertarian, anarcho-syndicalist and environmentalist ideas; and an artsy-fartsy hipster fuck, constantly consuming and/or creating in order to quench my thirst for constant stimulus - music, food, film, tv shows, literature, dance, etc. I view life as an exciting drama, an epic video game, a system to be hacked, a series of obstacles on a unicycle road running through the circus and towards oblivion/enlightenment. ADHD and proud of it.

PHILOSOPHY

"we're all just walking each other home." - Ram Dass

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Rarely surfed (or travelled for that matter!) but looking to fix that! Me and my roomates have hosted quite a bit though and only met fabulous people!

Interests

My ultimate goal is to sustain myself through a personal creative project - music or some sort of art. I'm currently working on a soundtrack for an ipad video game and I'd also like to eventually learn some sort of healing skill like shiatzu massage.

In the meantime, I'll have a BA in humanities from SFSU within the year, and I hope to start taking community college courses after that for a while, before probably pursuing a Master's in something similar. I love analyzing media, culture, art, philosophy, psychology, sociology, writing, reading, learning, etc.

I've been volunteering at music festivals, mission control, spca, wherever I can, trying to get more involved with support networks, communities, and find outlets through which i could share, laugh, relate, collaborate and practice communication.

I believe strongly in the idealism, challenges and lessons to be learned through living an open relationship/polyamorous lifestyle. I'm hoping to explore this more/

And I'm trying to stay centered, present and mindful by practicing yoga, meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, hackisack, juggling, self-massage, hitch-hiking, camping, travelling

Music, Movies, and Books

Music's my favorite art form: My Last.fmTV isn't far behind: The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Office [UK], Arrested Development, The Shield, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Futurama, Six Feet UnderAnd there's too many movies, books and graphic novels to name. Tell me what you like and we'll go from there!I'm also a foodie and a connoisseur of all the best, organic, exotic, fresh, fusion delicacies. I'm a wannabe cook but suck at it for the most part...for now.Video games formed the entirety of my childhood and teenage years, but don't have a place in my life anymore. I still respect them as a serious art form and still dream in video game lenses often. And drawing, painting, sculpture and wandering through galleries which contain all of that is hardly an afterthought.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchiking for 2 months across the pacific northwest, sleeping wherever the road dropped me off, whether in parks, on mountains or on friend's couches. I've adapted to the natural flow of life more in those 2 months than the entirety of the rest of my lifetime, and am eager to get back on the road as soon as I can! Next - the southwest, and then southern europe!

Teach, Learn, Share

The memories of the people i meet and connections i make when I manage to let my heart stretch completely open, let my body drift into the course of the wind, and enter a groove that's completely present with the full depth of emotional life keeps me alive.

I used to put myself and see myself as a lesser human being than everyone else. Now I see those negative thought patterns as presenting the opportunity to allow me to approach everyone without judgment, without any investment in ego and with an eagerness to learn, grow, and better myself.
