About Me

Hi I'm Aron Wong from Hong Kong. I am studying psychology and I am currently doing an exchange study program in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason why I am on Couchsurfing is to meet new friends from around the world. I have been reflecting on the meaning of travelling - although the scenery, the local food, and the history of the cities are fabulous, the best thing of travelling is still the people I meet on the journey. They could be my roommates in the hostels, strangers who happen to be sharing the same bench at the beach, or other tourists who are heading to the same destination as mine. Listening to their stories allows me to learn from other travellers - courage, knowledge, life philosophy, etc. I hope I could make friends with the hosts on Couchsurfing too!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a wide range of music, from classical to jazz, and from vocal to instrumental. My favourite singers are Frank Sinatra, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran. My favourite movies are The Revenant, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, etc. There are so many movies that I love. One of my favourite books is Quiet by Susan Cain. It demonstrates the power of introverts in our modern society. It also enables me to understand myself more as an introvert.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first time travelling solo was in Sri Lanka, where I hiked the Adam's Peak during midnight and saw an amazing sunrise. My solo journey to Italy was also full of surprises.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn cooking from my hosts, especially traditional cuisines of their cultures. I am quite good at cooking as well - I could cook decent Cantonese dishes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The best thing that could be shared with my hosts is my story.
