Overview
About Me
Haven't been couchsurfing in a few years due to COVID, but would be good to get back in to it. Previously hosted quite a few people, but currently can't really host in my housing situation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meet new people, learn new things.
On a more deeper level, I think that making meaningful connections with people is one of the things that gives meaning to life, and couchsurfing is a way of doing that. I also don't like the "charge money for every single little thing" mentality that seems so pervasive, and like the "I've got a spare X (room in this case), why not let people stay?" mentality.
Interests
I like being active in the outdoors, which is a lot more fun than sweating in the gym if you ask me!
Music, Movies, and Books
I like most types music. Some of my favourites include The Ex, Ayreon, Hazmat Modine, Billy Bang, Van der Graaf Generator, Shellac, Black Flag, and a whole bunch of others.
This is probably the best music video on YouTube that not enough people have seen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnxtFpfV4U4 ... such good vibes!
Good second place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6pkhNWD76o
I haven't been watching that much TV or films the last few years. I even cancelled my Netflix account as I was only using it once in a blue moon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sell/give away/chuck out everything I have minus 30kg and move to New Zealand on a whim. Not sure if that's amazing or crazy? Maybe both? 🤔
Camping on my own in the middle of nowhere in Iceland was really great as well! Only saw birds and arctic foxes for five days.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My cooking, as long as you do the dishes (my secret reason for hosting people is so I don't have to wash up! 😆)
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Singapore, Spain
Countries I’ve Lived In
Indonesia, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, United Kingdom
