About Me

I'm an engineer working for the oil and gas industry. At times the experience is exhilarating, at times, not so much. It's taught me the delight in the little joys of life.
I've met some extra-ordinary people in my life, who've taught me how to remain positive and open minded. I've shared good times with people of nationalities I never expected to cross paths with and made great 'bros' in the process.
Though I've been around and seen plenty, but the mode is still evolving; from an exchange student to business travel to backpacking. Different modes mean different aspects of the same place. Fortunate, much!

Interests

Running: A peronal favourite, doesn't require any fancy gear and is an excellent stress buster!

Nature: Nothing is more beautiful and satisfying than nature, unspoilt by human intervention.

Reading: Like to read whatever I could get my hands on: books, essays, news and ofcourse, wikipedia!
Addendum:
Weather permitting, I prefer going around on foot when I'm travelling. Gives me time to soak in the experience and be more with myself. Biking and hiking rank high on my list, specially if the company is good.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Electronic. Though I've been hooked on to various genres over the past years. Have seen my love grow and wane for pop to rock and roll to jazz and blues to electronic, my current escape.

Movies: Fan of the golden era of cinema. Sucker for the b/w gems made between 40s - 60s across the world.

Books: Loved Pride and Prejudice, love Calvin and Hobbs. Some other good books I've liked: Dracula, Animal Farm, The Prophet and The Great Gatsby.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped off a 50m high limestone island rising out of the waters of Halong Bay, Viet Nam!
Funny thing: I swam to the island leaving everyone on our tourist boat asleep after a day long tour of the bay. By the time I climbed up top, not only was everyone on my boat awake, but we had another tourist boat stop by to watch me complete the jump! A mix of peer pressure and adrenaline resulted in an amazing experience I've had in the more recent times!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: If you're not an Indian, I could teach you Hindi (yes, that's our language!)

Share: I've been fortuante to have known some extremely passionate, intelligent and gifted people in my life. Happy to share the experiences from the time spent with such souls and from my education, work, travels, interactions and observations.

Learn: I want to learn how to enjoy travel without it tourning into tourism. Want to know how socities develop, function and sustain in different parts of the world

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I'm mostly backpacking, means I am travelling light. However, I would be more than happy and willing to get some stuff from home to my generous hosts, if they're interested in anything Indian. If you're interested in books or maybe some really nice movies, you could count on me :)
