Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
I'm an English musician who lives in France, having just spent a few months working in Italy. I want to learn as many languages, and see as much of the world as possible.
ABOUT ME
I work hard, but enjoy it. I love my family dearly, especially my niece and nephew who live in Australia. I love music, languages, travel, good food and sport.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm independent and creative, and still working out who I am - but enjoying the process. I work hard at my musicality, health, fitness and knowledge and this keeps me very busy. I love my work but still feel that I'm constantly stretching for something that lies just out of reach. I'm always writing music and would like to leave a body of work that I'm proud of, and that ultimately will survive me.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been us CS for a few years and have had some truly brilliant experiences from it. I've since used it on my own in France, Spain, Hungary and Switzerland, and enjoy hosting my own surfers as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first couch surfed with a friend while in France during 2013. I was a little unsure at first, but she convinced me to give it a go. I'm very glad she did because I've made some great friends through the site and it has been an extremely positive thing in my life.
Centres d'intérêt
Any of the following subjects will generate immediate and enthusiastic conversation on my part: Guitar, fitness, running, Peterborough United FC, Belgian beer, French wine, learning languages, strong coffee, Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin, test cricket, piano, travels - past and future, World War II literature, European cinema, Mozart, Coldplay, healthy food.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
This last couple of years I've read Crime & Punishment, War & Peace, Oliver Twist, Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, Nineteen Eighty Four, Down and Out in Paris & London. I've just finished Life of Pi. I've read a couple of french novels - slowly!
My desert island discs: Beach Boys - Pet Sounds, The Beatles - Rubber Soul, Paul Simon - Graceland, Brian Wilson - Smile, Miles Davis - Kind of Blue. I have huge soft spots for Coldplay and Nat King Cole!
My best friend once commented that I wouldn't want to watch a film unless it had won six Oscars. That's a blatant exaggeration, but gives you an idea that I prefer something challenging and thought provoking to blatant Hollywood junk!
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Travelling to Kenya alone was a pretty special experience - a real life changer.
Holding my niece for the first time was incredible. Realising you love something so much that you know you'd do ANYTHING for that person's happiness and comfort, even at the expense of your own, was quite liberating.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I'm always studying music, and consistently want to improve. I love to learn and speak other languages. I'm currently focussed on Portuguese, but have more work to do on Italian and Spanish! I'm happy to share any of these with you.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
If you have a guitar, piano or ukulele I'd love to play it with you. I also like cooking and although I'm no expert I'll certainly whip up flapjacks or bubble and squeek one evening.
I love cricket and can teach you the rules of this amazing english sport!
