About Me

A usual European student. Honestly, most of the special things about me (if they are) can be read further here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is a natural place for getting in touch with other cultures. Like a big market in Istanbul somewhere around 1550 -- and that's just absolutely amazing, if you ask me.

Interests

Meeting new people from various cultural layers; comparing places (boroughs/cities/countries), especially in terms of streetfood and drinks; collecting maps (aww yeah, that feel when you've just arrived somewhere and you immediately start searching for this place's map) and coins. I also occasionally meet with my friends and we play some kind of "Jeopardy".

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: just everything. Post-rock, shoegaze, indie rock, trip-hop, random ethnic music etc.
Movies: not really into it. "Calvary", "Filth", "Hot Fuzz", Aardman animated ones, something else
Books: G. Simenon, O. Henry, Th. Dreiser, R. Stout, T. Chan, Graham Greene, R. van Gulik, Ch. Bukowski, I, Welsh, I. Bunin, J. Borges, Vs. Krestovskiy; "Cloud Atlass" by D. Mitchell, "Waiting for the Barbarians" by J. Coetzee, "Clockwork Orange" by A. Burgess, "The Inverted World" by C. Priest...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossing the border between Armenia and Iran at 2 am, suddenly finding myself in the middle of bleeding nowhere (desert and a flock of taxi drivers just next to the borderline), catching a random car and after a short trip with a guy who didn't speak neither English nor Farsi suddenly hearing Russian language from Azeri truckers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose I still have a lot to learn myself so I don't think I'm capable of teaching anybody anything:) I can only share my experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I'm currently still living with my parents, unfortunately I can't directly serve as your host. However I can share with you my knowledge about my city (as every other guy here who can't host you, hehe)

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Latvia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan
