About Me

Hallo, apa kabar?

You can call me Arta. I come from Bandung, Indonesia (http://wikitravel.org/en/Bandung). I am an open-minded person who enjoys laughing, going for long walks, and participating in recreational activities. I work as a freelancer, which can keep me busy on a weekday or weekend or leave me with nothing to do for the entire week. Depending on the situation.

My dream is to travel the world. I was very curious about how big the world is, how big the lands are, and how nice the people out there are, even though we had never met them before. Traveling or meeting other travelers allows me to fulfill my knowledge and soul about life.

So, here I am.

I am not a party person; I prefer to drink coffee or tea, eat something sweet in a cozy atmosphere, and talk about all things, then compel myself to be a listener in a noisy atmosphere. I enjoy attending gigs or music concerts, but clubs, bars, and discos are not for me. Please keep your smoke away from me, as I am not a smoker.

You can check out and follow me on Instagram. Please see my artwork practice at @hartasemesta (https://www.instagram.com/hartasemesta/). Thank you.

If you need a place to surf, send a couch request! (Please read my home arrangement before submitting a couch request.) If you are serious about reading my home arrangement, please begin your inquiry with "Halo Arta, apa kabar semesta hari ini?" Please do not ask your request in a message. I am not using this CS account for dating, so please do not chat without a purpose.

Treat others the way you want to be treated. Talk to people the way you want to be spoken to. Respect is earned and not given. 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel the world. The first step I can take to travel is to learn about other people's experiences. Connecting in the circle with people from various places, stories, cultures, and characteristics will be an incredible experience.

Why am I on Couchsurfing? I want to prove that nothing is impossible in this world, including my dream of traveling around the world. Even though the world is too big to visit, you are not alone, right? I believe in the kindness of strangers!

Interests

I like discovering new places, restaurants, and environments. I enjoy deep conversations about life experiences and lessons, spiritual journeys, new languages, art and culture, or dad and dry jokes. Life should be enjoyable and easy at times, right?

I occasionally sketch for fun or while traveling. If you are interested in doing it with me, please let me know! It would be fun to bring a postcard with your own artwork on it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Talking about music, I don't have anything special, but I enjoy music with good lyrics and sounds. I enjoy singing some songs, but it is difficult for me to remember the title, singer, and lyrics. Hum only! hahaha

Speaking of books, children's storybooks are the best. Full color, easy to read. But, actually, I enjoy reading novels. I've only ever read Harry Potter, Dan Brown's books, and the Chicken Soup series.

Speaking of movies, I enjoy animation, fiction, and adventure films. It's fascinating to watch something with impossible ideas, full color, and a high level of imagination. The movie must be entertaining, fun, and relaxing. No more stress! So, the horror film is my last option.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I graduated from university with an architecture major, completed some interior or architectural design projects, and people loved them. I got a job to prove my design abilities, looked after someone in the hospital, and traveled to places I had never been before as a solo traveler for the first time. I summited Semeru Mountain (the highest fire mountain on Java Island), became lost in the forest with no food, and had to survive. I taught many things to those who needed them. Wow, I've done so many amazing things. Almost half of my life journey has been amazing, even if it was a simple case.

These are incredible when viewed from a different perspective than others.
And seeing, meeting, and sharing with you may be another amazing thing that I will do soon!

Teach, Learn, Share

Based on my father's advice,
If you want to be smart, teach others.
If you want to be happier, learn more.
If you want to be wealthy, share generously.
I like the words teach, learn, and share.

I love to share my ideas, stories, and knowledge with everyone. Learning some unique habits, cultures, cuisines, or languages would be interesting; let me try it!

I spent time as a teacher, so teaching everything I know won't be a problem. As long as I know and can, I will gladly teach you everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

When I go somewhere, I bring my painting supplies with me. I like to draw simple postcard sketches. I did not bring any souvenirs from my home country, but I can create a personalized postcard as a gift for you. It's handmade with a personal touch by me. Sound good? I always leave my artwork at my host's house as a souvenir.
