About Me

I am always curious about new people, experience and knowledge. For my living I work as a civil servant at the IT department of the social welfare office Nuremberg and in my spare time I work as a voluntary sports trainer and examiner. Of course I also do sports myself and enjoy running and cycling the most. Also I was active in politics for a some years, but I've calmed down a bit in the meantime

Some years ago I made the decision to take part in a (half) marathon in a major city once every half year and to combine it with travelling. For example I participated in Dublin, Reykjavik, Berlin and Kiev. The last three ones were Valencia, Lisbon and The Hague. My next stops are Cardiff, Prague, Copenhagen and Valencia. The marathon in Pyongyang and I guided tour through Northern Korea is also on my bucket list. Where possible I try to go there by bike.

And because it is currently important, although it should go without saying: I am fully vaccinated against COVID19 and also have all the vaccinations recommended for Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge fan of Philip K. Dick, Stanislaw Lem, Haruki Murakami, and many more. My most favorised book is "A Scanner Darkly" by Philip K. Dick, which was also picturised with Keanu Reeves in lead. Lately I read more specialist and political literature, and currently I love reading comic books like Batman. I also like movies of all genres, from mainstream to indy. In music my taste also varies between mainstream and indy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I contested a seat in Bavarian Parliament. However, in my old hometown I also was a municipal councillor and the youth officer for twelve years and a debuty mayor for six years. Unfortunately I had to resign my honorary posts after I moved for my current job.

Teach, Learn, Share

I passed a lot of seminars in communication, social skills, public relations, local politics and youth work, further I am trained in first aid and I try learning differnt languages at Busuu.com, mainly Spanish. In my life I had side jobs in courier services, food production, gardening, canoeing and giving workshops in public relations and Microsoft Office.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In addition to sharing my apartment, I can share my knowledge about the region and the neighboring city Nuremberg. And we can exchange our knowledge and opinions about history and politics as well.
