About Me

I like discovering valuable hidden ideas, places, whatever, also hiking, walking and sitting idly in a café or restaurant, so you are always welcome to invite me to do these, whoever you are :)

I do also love playing chess. Please don't hesitate to reach out for that. I would love to discuss openings with stronger players. I play classical chess and cool variants.

My Don'ts
I don't smoke, I don't like drinking too much alcohol, I don't do drugs and I don't go to clubs. I don't like photography, because I am not good at it. Could be boring for some people :)

Attention: If I am not answering then I am probably busy with other things going on, or, less likely, you are a super weird person I would like to play far :)

Attention 2: I am embarrassed that I even have to say this, but I am straight, and this is not a dating platform. Just saying!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to meet interesting people during my free time and learn something new from them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I used to listen to a lot of rock and heavy metal. These days I prefer to listen to classical pieces and this obscure band called сатана печет блины. I love Saint-Saëns, Brahms, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, among many others.

Movies: I like cult classics and I like them old. To give you an idea, I love watching Tarantino, Roman Polanski, Alfred Hitchcock, Jim Jarmusch, Stanley Kubrick movies, among others, but I don't watch movies these days :(

Books : I like gothic literature. I also adore Voltaire, Goethe, Bulgakov, Oscar Wylde, Jane Austen, etc. as for contemporaries I have read some Yuval Noah Harari, Malcolm Gladwell, I am familiar with Nassim Taleb's ideas. I need more time and focus to read some Russian literature, world classics and contemporary ideas I can apply.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a night sleeping on a bench, have slept some 6 months in a tent.
Almost got lost in the Netherlands twice.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about software engineering, chess, nutrition, simple living as much as I am qualified.

Generally I would like to learn whatever you can teach me. If you could show me the beauty in unusual places, that would be great. I would like to learn more travel tips, as I consider myself relatively new to it.

Right now I am also interested in learning German, Russian, about how international law works, more about life in general.
