About Me

Hey there!

I'm Artemida, typical 20-something student, wannabe farmer. Fascinated with ancient ways of life. Traveled a bit, then couldn't. Now just ridesharing my way through Canada whenever I get the chance.

Let's talk foraging, mycology, fermentation, veganism, coffee, history, myth, folklore, or early 2000's MTV shows.
Recently bought a 2004 digital camera, figuring out how to use it one blurry photo at a time.

Looking to start a self-sufficient commune by 2030, connect with me on LinkedIn to join.

If we meet, would love to see some local products and concepts that exist nowhere but where you are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Touristy things are cool, monuments and parks and all that. But I believe that one of the most incredible things humans have invented are culture, and there's no better way to learn about that than through local people.

Where do the locals go for fun? What's the education system like? How strong is national identity?

And all that. Couchsurfing is the perfect opportunity to see what that's actually like, how people live.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've ziplined over the world's second largest canyon.

It's mid-July, cold as heck in the mountains of Montenegro, you're 18 with no sense of self-preservation.
Someone asks you if you want to go on a zip-line, you say, "Sure okay, yeah?"
Right before they throw you over the edge, they warn you "oh, by the way, it's very windy and rainy so you may get stuck half-way through. Just like, push yourself forward".
You're terrified.
But it's absolutely baller up there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have lots of domestic skills, so I think I was meant to be working the land, not Excel in life.
Baking, cooking, fermentation, soap-making, candle-making, leech care, plant care, terrarium building.

You know, just the basics.

Speak a couple languages, would love to practice/share.
