Overview
About Me
I am from a small town on the Olympic Peninsula. I didn't appreciate all the beauty around me while growing up, so I’m making up for that now.
For my undergraduate, I studies linguistics and anthropology; I'm currently working on a graduate degree to become a teacher and work in education. I am always excited to share knowledge and skills with others, and hopefully gain some too. Try to find comfort in the discomfort.
Just in case my references confuse you, I have two names--Angelique, my legal name, and Artemis, my nickname. I'm perfectly happy to be called either, so whichever is easier for you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Growing up, my family lightly participated in the couchsurfing community by hosting a few surfers that would pass through the small town that I lived in, and they were all excellent experiences. My first surfing experience was when I was nine while traveling with my father and sisters in Ireland. Our host was a botanist and took us on a hike and taught us about the plants of the region. My most vivid memories from that trip are from all wonderful, crazy things that happened while we were couchsurfing. After having that experience I hope to continue having positive couchsurfing experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share
We have kayaks and bikes at my home, which guests can use whenever. If you're interested in hunting/gathering type activities, there are plenty of things to do in spring through autumn. You can go fishing on our dock and I can take you clam digging if it's the season for it. In the summer our house is surrounded by full blackberry bushes, so please pick as many as you can.
Ironically, I'm not great at learning languages, but I would love it if a host could teach some of their native (or other) language.
