À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Travel around Europe, get well.from my injuries, so I can do it by bike, and host people with this same intention.

ABOUT ME

Isn´t that too open? Well, I try to cohabit well with everybody around me. I'm easy to get along with and hardly have an argument with anyone. I like to know new people, new habits, new cultures, and try to keep my mind open to all kinds of behaviours and new experiences. Recently I've got a lot into cycling and I'm trying to find time for some serious cycle tours.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live well with everybody. Don´t point bad things about other people and try to do what's best for everyone always, never harming anybody, however not caring about others' judgments on my attitudes.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Like everybody else, I guess. Surfing in people's houses and hosting them in my own. I just don't go much to meetings because they don't really happen very oftenly here in my city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed in several places in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Poland, Czek Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, and hosted some people in the apartments I lived in Aveiro, Portugal, and also in Salamanca, Spain. All great experiences. We always have fun, do stuff togheter (as long as I have time, but normally I do), sometimes cook, eat, drink, go to the beach, party, learn about each other's place and culture, interchange as much as we can.

Centres d'intérêt

Travel, cycling, cyclo touring, music, people, cultures, cinema, drinks, states of mind, lifestyles, more cycling, more music, feeligns, experiences...

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Books: The heart of Darkness (Joseph Corad), El amor en los tiempos del cólera (Gabriel Garcia MArques) Memoria de mis putas tristess (GGM), Brazilian Literature like Machade de Assis, José de Alencar... Recently, The song of Ice and Fire, the whole thing.

Movies: Movies of Brazilian directors like Kleber Mendonça Filho, Lírio Ferreira, Glauber Rocha, Mauro Lima, Rude Lagemann and others, both classic and modern, especially with regional elements.
Movies of famous directors like Stanley Kubrick, Pedro Almodovar, Guillermo Del Toro, Francis Ford Copola,
I also like very underground movies, like Subway (french), Suicide Club (japaneese) and Osama (from Afeganistan), and any other good movie wich litlle (ou much) people know about.

Music: I can be considered ecletic, i have no prejudices at all about music. At home, I mostly listen to metal music, especially death, thrash and hardcore. I also enjoy popular brasilian music, especially the artists who mix regional rytms with globalized styles also enjoy. I like to discover new things from new places, so I'm constantly being surprised by portuguese music. I like listening to everything with friends or in a party, but I can ger a little bored when they play the same reggaeton or pop (as in Lady Gaga) tunes over and over :p

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The great sedimentar rocks sculptured by weather variations in Vale do Catimbau, the rupestrian paintings on several places in Brazil, the amazing waterfalls and rocky landscapes in Chapada Diamantina, The pictures I used to see in my history books in Ouro Preto's Museums, little colored fishes hiding in corals under the crystaline water in Ipojuca, Sepultura and Angra playing Black Sabbath together, Fishermen hosting european tourists instead of leting a giant resort being built on top of their houses in Beberibe, The incredible beach/mountains landscapes in Rio de Janeiro, Hanging out with punks and metalheads while listening to a viby Maracatu jam on the same street the portugueese used to sell slaves and the juish built the first synagogue of the Amercian continent (wich is still there) in Recife.

In other words: BRASIL.

Also, cycling up beautiful mountains with amazing views a few hours riding from home; cycling the whole freaking day and getting back home exhausted and extremely satisfied; drinking handmade (a little bit feetmade as well :P) wine in Northern Portugal's small villages; the amazing hills and river landscapes of the Douro region, tasting Port wine right where it's made; being gifted with delicious cheese and jelly just because people are happy cause you're visiting their village.

In other words, PORTUGAL.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach people how to make some very simple brazilian foods, like tapioca and cuscuz (our is influenced, however very different from the arab); and drinks like caipirinha and its variations.

I can teach the languages I speak (english, portugueese from Brazil and spanish).

I could teach a thing or two to someone interest in starting cycling. Although I'm not that experienced, I Do cycle a lot and watch lots of YouTube videos :p

I could also give some introduction about some issues of tourism, like sustainabity in this activity, comunitary experiences, planning, marketing, destination image, film tourism, etc...

I would like to learn any language one could teach, at least some basic sentences. I would also like to learn anything new.

If I am lucky enough to host someone who is doing some epic cyclo touring adventure, I'd love to hear about their experiences.
