About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"What dream would you dare to dream if you knew you could not fail?"

ABOUT ME

On an early retirement from a corporate position in the entertainment field. Now divide my time between freelance music journalism, catering, and my musical career. Love to travel with my camera, but take time to savor my experiences from the other side of the lens. Have a wonderful sense of humor, and look (or try to) at the world from the other person's perspective, which is why I am proud to be a Couchsurfing member. I am easy-going, a low-maintenance guest, and am always interested in learning new things and meeting fascinating folks.

You can find my music at www.ambientism.com

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On some level, all of us here on Couchsurfing are risk-takers: we step outside of our comfort zone to explore new places and to interact with new people. For me, that is what the experience of traveling should be. I can't exactly claim that "I've been everywhere, man", but whether it was catching Chet Baker at The New Morning in Paris' Latin Quarter, skiing in the Laurentian mountains or camping in the Black Hills of South Dakota, I have gained valuable friendships, and made (sometimes astonishing) insights into myself, and the world I live in.

Interests

Composing music, photography, concerts, painting, poetry, cooking and entertaining at home.
If you are visiting the Albany, NY area the weekend of June 1st, be sure to come to the opening
reception of my art and photography show on Friday, 6/1 - 362 State Street, Downtown - 6pm.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think heading out to the Black Hills (alone) and hanging out with fellow campers & bikers at Bear Butte Creek (near Sioux City, SD) was the bravest and most enriching journey so far....met a lot of cool folks, learned I was more self-sufficient than I gave myself credit for, and sang with the house band on the main stage ("Friend of the Devil" by the Grateful Dead). Recently attended a spiritual retreat in the Shakori Hills of North Carolina. The Wild Goose Festival was a blast: I catered meals for the planning committee, and made a lot of new friends there, many of whom I keep up with on Facebook.
