About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My husband Matt (CS profile https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/1272498) and I are on a round the world trip, generally headed in the next couple months through Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and then over toward Central America.
And I'm always, always, always writing amazing stories to share with the world.
And through a series of strange events, I'm actually carrying the fuzzy blue coat in my profile pic around Europe. And not much more, just a little backpack.
ABOUT ME
I've been a part of the couchsurfing community since 2005 and I love it. For many years, I hosted many people and have made excellent lifelong friends through this resource. :)
Now - I'm on my round the world adventure with my husband. We are really looking forward to meeting all you wonderful fellow couchsurfers!
Damn, I try not to be too serious! I am a laid back, creative soul who dwells in possibility and positivity. I like to laugh loudly (and often at improper time and place) at the ridiculousness of the world. Sometimes I'm too loud, other times I am a bumbling mumbler. All of the time there is no edit button for my mouth...sometimes this gets me into fantastic trouble, sometimes it gets me out of it. Wierd random synchronicities consistently happen to me and around me, so it's a good thing that I don't mind; I am in fact, on the look-out for them.
PHILOSOPHY
Anna-tude! Life to me is to be lived, soaked in, sucked up, honored and to notice the inter-connectedness of everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf. I host. I love CS. I love the people I meet through this site. That's what 'real' travel is all about for me.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I became addicted to couchsurfing 15 years ago when moving to the west coast. A friend said, "I'm calling so and so in Oklahoma because it's silly for you to stay in a soul-less motel when you could be meeting other great people." She called, I surfed and the rest is history. So, in that example I surfed NOT through the CS site (which I do quite often as it's always an extra victory to find a host or surfer not through this site)
But with couchsurfing.org, I've hosted a bunch and surfed a bunch . . . even hosted a car-surfing road trip for 3 weeks. I love meet-ups when I can't find a couch when traveling as well. Have only met wonderful people, expect this trend to continue.
A note about my references. Yep, I've got 7 neutral ones, but most of those are from people I know who I've met and haven't surfed with so I believe that the 'neutral' response is perfect in that situation. Sometimes people see the 'neutral' rating though and think something was off. Nope.
Interests
Traveling, telling you a story or four, writing, taking snaps. Self-publishing, polaroid transfers, nature, Reading. Art. Discovering new music, new cultures, new ideas and people. Vernaculars. Throwing things, but not at people, usually. Alternative modes of transpo, sacred plant medicine. Re-educating people. Galavanting, cavorting. Ignoring the TV, wa-hooing!, Wigs & costumes, props and people. Fire, fightin' and whiskey. Stargazing, camping and dreaming.

Music, Movies, and Books
I want to read almost alllll the books, but especially memoirs, autobiographies, biographies . . . good literature always wins over run of the mill fiction, romance or murder mysteries.
Movies: if it's got a good story, I'm in. Music: funk, anything I can shake my booty to. I like to get the party started.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've lived in an abandoned mansion in the middle of a tobacco field one summer.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to talk, to dance. Ask me about anything here on my profile. :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to cook and I'm really great at doing the dishes. I don't mind them at all. I love good conversation and exchange of ideas.
I have no idea where I will live after my round the world trip is over - it really could be anywhere in the world. But where ever it may be, my hosts will ALWAYS have a place to stay.
