About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy the moment, share it with others, capture it in piece of art for eternity.

ABOUT ME

I'm an eccentric artist type comfortable in his own skin, who is very happy turning my world on its ear periodically. I'm back living my dream in Volcano, HI. I'm pleased to be right here, in the present, right now living my life to the best of my abilities.

Spiritually, I follow a path of awareness; it looks like Buddha and Yesusha talking story over good food but I am always open and questioning. I find the overall effect of organized religion to be negative but I am tolerant of it as I would hope others will be of me. I also hold a degree in religious studies and hope to expand my research on that topic.

Esoterically, I'm fascinated by the engery that moves through and around each of us and how it can be recognized, manipulated and guided. That all being said, I love philosophical discussions, friendly debates over the taboo topics(religion & politics) and I will be the first to "agree to disagree" rather than enter a heated argument. Life is too short for that kind of foolishness and I'm not out to convert people to my line of thought but I am open to talking about it. Its the differences which keeps everything interesting!

More about me: I am 6'2" with brown hair, hazel eyes (which change color depending upon mood)I need to get in better shape. I'm a GWM who found the right guy.

When it comes to work, there isn't much I haven't done and I am always on the lookout to learn more! I love to cook and entertain friends. I look forward to sharing my many skills with my hosts/guests of CS. I love making music (improv piano and occasional drumming circles when I can find them). I love to read, garden and most of all explore.

I am a fan of Geocaching.com, which is a great way to hike through the hills, investigate cool places around the world and just generally explore the world in search of "treasures," with the aid of my GPS.

PHILOSOPHY

"I would rather be here now." A Hindu proverb which reminds us that we are here because of the choices we have made. We choose our roles. I am not a victim, I choose to learn from this moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope be able to help others just as I hope to be able to use to the project for my own travels.

Interests

Making ART Seeing ART, Teaching others how to use their gifts to make ART, Music, getting outside and enjoying this incredible planet! When the mercury goes south then, I'm all about being warm, watching movies and did I mention MAKING ART? LOL. Yeah I can be a little Type A at times.
I also enjoy reading, A LOT.
Certified in Quantum Touch
Enjoy massage, both giving and receiving
I am deeply intrigued by the Tarot. I read with the illuminati tarot but have many decks. Archetypes are symbols and the way we view the world is ruled by our symbols.

I enjoy hanging out with open-minded people.

Music is all over the map and depends entirely upon what I am doing and who I am doing it with!
Basically I like Electronica/Dance/Trance when I am sculpting or deep into painting.
Otherwise I'm not real fond of rap or twangy country. Pretty much everything else has its place and is totally cool.
Favorite Movies: ShortBus Unrated Version(I love the way Cameron pushes everyones' buttons about sex, relationships and our need for connection to one another); Fav classic movie is "Bell, Book & Candle" with Jimmy Stewart & Kim Novak. I also enjoy great action adventure movies, sappy movies, beautiful Chinese Epic tradgies, Indie films, Saturday matinee Hollywood fluff, Disney/Pixar fun, heavy drama, psychological thrillers as well as movies that make you think for days afterward(DVDs-I'm too poor to make it to the cinema, so I love NETFLIX and video rentals). So ya see my tastes are all over the map with the exception of slasher schlock and excessive gore, I'll pass.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went monofinning (think swimming like a mermaid-one big fin) at Ho'okena beach on the west side of the Big Island of Hawaii. I was about a 10th of mile out from shore checking out the coral when two spinner dolphin sentinels circled me and stopped. They clicked at me and then moved forward about 10 feet and then stopped again looking back at me and clicking again. I swam forward and they escorted me out to their pod about 1/4 mile from shore. Soon I was swimming & playing with about 40 dolphins. They were jumping over me, touching me by gently moving their fins over me. Underwater, it was noisy and funny as they all clicked and carried on. After about a half hour I realized I was beginning to tire and it was a long swim back in against a current. I looked back to shore trying to gauge the distance and two of the dolphins came up beside me again. My escorts followed me half way back making sure I was ok in the currents. It was as if they really knew I was different and yet was an ok friend to play with. I will never forget that experience. And my friends were all jumping up and down on shore because they had seen me in the center of the dolphins at play. I will always treasure that memory.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't change the past, the future hasn't happened, so all I can affect is this moment by making the best possible decision. I learn from the difficult times and treasure the good times to create a fabulous life in this moment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been told I am a pretty good cook, so I love to share my culinary skills because sharing a meal is sharing life.
