Overview
About Me
Well, I'm that quiet polite person who once have gotten to know will become loud and laughing. I am a mix heritage person carrying mixed rites. Born to a Jawa Father and a Métis Mi'kmaq mother I was born and raised on Pulau Bali, Nusantara. (Aka. Indo Malay Archipelago). I live an island life and follow and respect the ways of tradition.
I do film photography, dibble in creative writing and would be interested in making zines. I have been doing etching/printmaking as an art form for 2 years in Melbourne at The Ownership Project with an exhibition that followed. It was based on Timor Leste, West Papua and Sunda roots.
Traditional dance is a big part of me, I was lucky enough to recently complete a long rehearsed endeavour of a ritualistic traditional contemporary dance project called Beso De La Tierra which was performed at RMIT Melbourne. Australia has been interesting like that... Hmmm.....
I'm a motorcycle maniac... My friends and I host private semi off road touring trips in Indonesia usually on Kawasaki KLX. Though I am a Cafe Racer lover...lovvvv..errrrrrrrr...
I'll try and climb anything that looks climbable... And at least attempt the unclimbable... Even if it's only in my mind hehe...
I love my coffee. I have been a Barista for 2 years and would love to learn farm to cup works.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's time that I give this a shot, I've had friends who've done it and friends who host in Bali and always met couch surfers through them, its a nice meeting of worldly strangers who then become friends for good. I stepped out of comfort zone 3 years ago, although Bali is home and island life and culture will not separate from me, I have taken liberty on setting off for life on the road, amazing times I dreamed of having before I left I am now living those dreams Ive had. yet have not couch surfed! Aotearoa ... NZ here I come... please consider me as a guest!
