CURRENT MISSION
Getting in touch with interesting people from different cultures, share some experiences and improve language skills.
ABOUT ME
I'm Artur, 22 years old, I'm an open-minded and curious guy who love to know about new cultures and meet people.
I'm a med student currently living in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. I love music (any kind, with a few exceptions), I'm really into board sports (although I'm not the best), and I wanna get in touch with different cultures as much as I can. I've been on CouchSurfing for about one and a half year and I had a lot of amazing experiences during this time, mainly when I spent one year in an exchange program in the US.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm glad to host people when I'm able to. When I'm not able, I also like hanging out with people and showing cool places in my city. And, of course, I always try to find local people on CS when I'm traveling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The first time I've heard about Couchsurfing was when my brother told me that he and his girlfriend were planning to travel around Europe and they've intended to use the CS. They've traveled and they told me some of the great experiences that this community has offered for them. I got very interested in participate, both hosting and surfing. I've been hosting for sometime and I've been surfing in the last year during my exchange program in the US. It was certainly the best experience of my life and CS is responsible for part of it. I got the chance to meet incredible people during that time and I visited places in a way that I wouldn't be able to if I didn't meet such people. So I'm very thankful to CouchSurfing and I hope I have more awesome experiences in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I really like to listen to live music, no matter the kind of music (with a few exceptions). I'm an eclectic person. Some bands that I'm used to listen to: Sublime, Beautiful Girls, Dirty Heads, John Butler Trio, Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, Raconteurs, Matisyahu, Manu Chao, Mettalica, Pink Floyd, Lettuce.
Movies: a few examples: Pan's Labyrinth, We need to talk about Kevin, Into the Wild, Tarantino movies, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit... Series: Breaking Bad (the most amazing thing ever produced), How I met your mother, Sherlock...
Books: The Hobbit, Of Mice and Men, Women, The Universe in a Nutshell...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled for 44 days around the US with just a backpack sleeping on a bunch of couches and meeting a lot of people. That was a pretty cool experience. If you're into health science, I've seen some impressive things during my med school also.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach some words in Portuguese, basic principles of playing the bass, or how to prepare Caipirinha (a drink from my contry :D). I have uncountable things to learn though.
