About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being stuck in my city as I am, my mission is to bring the world to me, hosting as many foreigners I can.

ABOUT ME

** Our home is a Feminist and Queer home **

I am a 40 years old single parent, raised a boy who's now 20 and because of that got a bit stuck in my country. I'd like to start fixing that by letting the outer world come to me in the form of foreigners from everywhere.

If you are looking for a "safe and cheerful place in Roma, close to the centre and with internet access", this is totally it. :)

I consider myself a "foreigner from everywhere" too. I love to meet people from different cultures and places, while I am so fed up of Italians. If I could, I'd drop my nationality (as in: I am not your typical italian guy) and I actually consider myself Stateless. Countries are a scam. I am for a borderless world.
I wanted to be a writer, a movie editor/director and a photographer but ended up being a daddy/mommy. I am extremely polite and respectful, and I think the only borders which shouldn't be crossed without the proper authorizations are "personal ones". Personal space is sacred.
I am employed in boring paperstuff but plan to get back to the artistic-slacking lifestyle as soon as possible (read: when the kid will be able to take care of himself). My hair is a mess. Always.
I am in love with Suomi (Finland) and Canada.

PHILOSOPHY

I am ethical, very. It's a hard path, and can be confusing at times, but talking about it is the key, reasoning about it's even better.

Some of the few things that can be said in such a small space and definitely make up for what I am are my honesty (I hate LIES in all forms), my straightforwardness and the idea that as long as it is the truth it's worth going for it. Plus, I am a fan of remembering, and kind of upset with forgetting. Yes, in general.

And I am a feminist. That matters a lot. And this is how serious I am about it: ( http://falconeer.tumblr.com/post/5832381302/the-deserter-was-as-a-feminist )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do my best to give a place to stay and be safe to people who couldn't travel otherwise. This planet is expensive, and sharing is beautiful. Also, please note, ***THIS IS A FEMINIST COUCH IN A FEMINIST AND QUEER ENVIRONMENT***

Also, religion-free.

- We try to create a little tiny area of safety, compassion, understanding, and stimulating debate in a city known for the lack of those things. So we participate to Couchsurfing by injecting more equality and fairness and ethics into it :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted lots of people from all over the world and I am PROUD to say that they all had a good to great experience and they can all testify my couch is possibly the SAFEST in the whole city :)

***Keep couchsurfing clean of creeps. Give negative references when needed!***

Interests

Cinema, literature (books you know), music (I am VERY picky in my own way, just not genre-wise). Actually I have too many interests to even try to list them all :)
A few: knowing people from different places and cultures, learn wonderous languages, lay plans to destroy the world, manga and anime (they glued to me when I was a kid and I can't shake them off), philosophy, politics and feminism, single parenting warstories, yoga, hooping and leg warmers (yay!).
All of this doesn't mean we HAVE to talk. The couch comes free of mandatory chitchat, unless you want to and I am not housewiving my ass off! :)

Amazing thing seen: Sunsets. Valsesia. Love & Rockets, scarygoround.com, Kyuss live in the 90s, Helsinki. Cats.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll teach you Italian, of course :)
Or how to play videogames, how to cook the very roman "Pasta alla Gricia", or how to craft a colouful hulahoop, how to do a sun salutation the Astanga Yoga way, how to ride and love trains and find wonders in streetcorners, how to fall for rainclouds and how to look at the ceiling finding lots of interesting things in it.

And hooping! Even though I am totally in the "learning" phase, not the teaching one.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States
