Hi everyone! My name is Arturo, i am 21, italian and french citizen; I recently graduated in European and international studies at the University of Versailles in France and now i am taking a gap year to travel around Asia. I started my trip with a couple of weeks in Sri Lanka, followed by 2 months in India, now I'm Malaysia and I'll continue with Maldives.

Honestly in the beginning i just wanted some free place to crash while i was moving around Europe, but i met such wonderful people that now i don't even care about the money, it's about the experience! Couchsurfing is amazing to have a real insight of the place you are going to rather than just ramblin from a touristy place to another

Musica, film e libri

Wow, tough one!
Music: i like to listen different kinds of music: grew up with rock from to sixties to nineties, but i love bkues, jazz, classical, reggae, electronical, world music.. in a word, everything! But i especially like to know different styles and typical kinds of music of the place i visit. 4 example this Winter listening to klezmer music in the jewish neighbourhood of Krakow was amazing!

Books: in always in the processo of reading something and there are so many books i like but here are some authors i really loved: Emmanuel carrère, Michel houellebecq, Tiziano terzani, Ryszard kapuscinky, hunther Thompson, Sandro veronesi, sylvain tesson, fedor Dostoevskij, Jack Kerouac, Alexandra David néel, Irvine welsh, George Orwell.. and many others.
If you are interested my father is a writer too!

Movies: from Kubrick to the Cohen Brothers, from Fellini to sorrentino, from Charlie Chaplin to Matthew McConaughey, i enjoy watching a bit of everything.

Teaching english to primary School kids in Bali, Indonesia.
Seeing the Atlas in Marocco on a nice donkey, or the pyramids in Egypt on a camel.
Bathing at the source of the Ganges, the holiest river of Hinduism.

Well i Can teach you how to Cook some italiano food (nothing complicated but yummy!), Or some italian\french\spanish. Having a talk about art and litterature is always is always pleasant for me:)
