About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To boldy go, that's it . . . just go - mentally, physically, spiritually

ABOUT ME

I just realized that I have not stood on my head for some time, We are happy together - I just saw a chicken, oh squirrel, he is laaaaaid back, I love to inspire others to create, he loves stimulating, intellectual conversation, he loves to create food, his zen is fishing, mine is the forest gathering materials and exploring every inch . . . I used to travel throughout the US quite a bit, he has been to Europe, we recently traveled to India, New Zealand, Ireland/Scotland, South Africa, and recently Peru. We are continuing on an unbounded life adventure!

PHILOSOPHY

The more you give, the more you get, I also practice a waste not, want not life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Frances: I love John Denver and Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold and Enya, World Music and the Blues, in no particular order. I love to read about people's adventures, find it hard to sit still to watch a movie, our TV gets no channels and we seldom turn it on to watch movies. Why watch TV when you can go outside and watch life and creation?! Brent loves to read history and discuss a plethora of topics. He loves the Blues and the Green Bay Packers, is an MMA fan and can talk about nearly every movie he has seen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Frances: built a house, while living in a tent for a year, with my 14 year old daughter -it has 504 bottles that light streams through it and was built with 73% reused materials. The amazing thing is that we still liked each other in the end! I solo hiked the Wisconsin portion of the North Country Trail in 2014 - plotting more . . . am very active in my community - our chamber of commerce, Lioness, the Manito Art League, the Fleazaar and teach exercise and art throughout the area. Daily meditation, gratitude, yoga and hiking tame my hyperactivity!
Brent: I, with the cooperation and help of many, developed a thriving, diversified business profile for the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians Tribe. I also hold the distinction of having graduated in the top three of my class (out of 4), have barefoot water-skiied in a cranberry farm ditch while being pulled by a pick-up truck and am a 3 time champion of the Bayfield Applefest Apple Peeling Contest. I recently visited South Africa and can share my adventure with you!

Teach, Learn, Share

You can eat raw porcupines, kill them with your hands, I can demonstrate how (no porcupine will be harmed in the process!) . . . we can teach you to clean a grouse with no tools, show you how to build the sauna fire, create art, flyfish, identify delicious mushrooms (summer) and more at our house!

At your house - I will teach you how to create an artwork, I will bring you a locally sourced food and my famous lemon cookies and more as listed in "What I Can Share With Hosts"

What I Can Share with Hosts

Enthusiasm, a home cooked meal, knowledge about life in Northern Wisconsin, laughter, an original artwork, maybe our garden, chicken or honey bounty, we clean up after ourselves and will help you with . . . I can do simple electrical and plumbing, am adept at running power tools, am not afraid of work, help build a cordwood or strawbale building . . .

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, India, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Scotland, South Africa, Spain
