I am a professor of Chemical Engineering. I have taken a few social initiatives for the upliftment of the nearby communities and locality.

“GyanArpan” is one of such social initiatives to educate and promote local unprivileged kids. Currently more than 30 volunteers are dedicatedly working for the cause on each Saturday and Sunday. Under this social initiative, I also interact with teachers and guardians of nearby schools and villages to motivate and counsel them about the importance of learning.

Recently, I have started a project, "Travelers in Class". Through this project, I would like to invite travelers from all part of the world in Sivasagar, Assam to interact with our students.

What can a traveler do to a rural community?
Two years ago I met few students in a rural school. Just like many other students, they were confused. They did not know what do they study for and they have no idea about their future. I used to be the same when I was young. But I was lucky, I got the chance to study in premier institutes in India and abroad. However, most of them cannot. I really want to let them know more about this world. Therefore, I have started the project "Travelers in Class".

Through this project, let me invite you to visit Sivasagar, Assam to interact/share your experience in class to the school/college students. You not necessarily need to be a teacher to be in the class. You can share your culture and your life experience or you can simply have fun with the students. Believe me, it will have an incredible experience with the rural students.

Travelers can do amazing things to the society. People judge because they don’t understand, people respect when they try to understand. This world will be better if we have more chance to understand.
