ABOUT ME

I believe life is a journey - and I hope to arrive not expecting more wealth than the riches I have gained along the way. In the meantime there is music to dance to, poems to shout out, people to celebrate and debates to be chiseled out of fine arguments - and 'change', possible :)

PHILOSOPHY

I am a die hard left liberal. I am also very intolerant of religious fundamentalism and right wing politics. I believe change is possible but it had to begin inside oneself. I also believe that we are here so that we can share, build, connect and become better people.

I am new to this community and am eager to watch, listen and learn. I have heard stories of such generosity and graciousness that I hope I am able to live up to some of it :) Right now I wish to participate by offering a bed in my home in Bangalore.

Interessen

Passionate about politics, poetry, polemics and not necessarily in that order. I love to travel, meet people and places, converse, argue and debate. I love narrative films, impressionist and expressionist art, political theatre and ghazals. I am also a bookworm. Sometimes on certain Wednesdays or Fridays, I get the dancing bug and am out parting till the wee hours of the morning.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I am a complete film buff and watch atleast 3 films every week :)I watch Indian films in various languages, English films as well as films in other languages. Iranian films have been my favourite for sometime.

I am an avid reader and will read any fiction and poetry. however, I have an aversion to non fiction though I am seriously trying to change that. I have developed a recent taste in graphic novels.

I am very old fashioned when it comes to music - so ghazals, old hindi film music, beatles, joan baes, dylan, janis joplin, farida khanum, begum akhtar...yes, pretty mixed up in the 70s!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I write. Poetry mainly. Also articles on my subject - non profits. I can share that. And my experiences of the not for profit sector in India. I can also share my cooking skills. I am an obsessive organiser - be it a party, a trip or personal finances. I could help with that too! I have learnt Indian classical dance and have a masters - anyone wanna learn that?

Would love to learn to be patient. And give up little control :)
