Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find out where I belong to in this world and somehow make it a better place for all.
ABOUT ME
Master student of development studies in Vienna and half a year ago I have become a father which is why I returned to my hometown Berlin. There I work for the World Food Programme (WFP) with whom I have previously been in Haiti delivering humanitarian aid after Hurricane Matthew made landfall in September 2016.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although I can currently not host people I love the concept of couchsurfing and have recommended it to people I met all over the world. Now, living with a baby makes life a little bit more difficult which is why we need the couch in our living room as our own backup sleeping place.
Interests
good food, cooking together, craft beer, sports (jogging, frisbee, freeletics), independent movies, partying (well, less than some years ago, but still enjoying all kinds of music) :-)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: to chill out: https://www.youtube.com/user/majesticcasual
Movies: A film related to my studies is "Concerning Violence" which I definitely recommend others to watch. It is a post-colonial movie showing the efforts of suppressed peoples standing up for their right: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concerning_Violence
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Guiding a group of five 13-14-years old children of a Montessori school, who had to succeed their challenge of becoming grown-ups. Their challenge was to organize and accomplish a trek from Berlin to the Baltic Sea in just 2 weeks, i.e. walking 20km/day (280km in total). The boys never went on trekking trips before. While some groups from their school aborted the mission, they succeeded :-) My main task lay in the protection of the boys while at the same time I had to leave them as free as possible so they could experience their self-efficacy. Here is a well-written article how such a "Herausforderung" can look like in practice (unfortunately only in German):
