Hi, I am Arvie, 25 years old from the Philippines. I am currently in the second semester of my master's degree here in Geel, Belgium where I was in Jyväskylä, Finland for my first semester. I am kind of an ambivert, so I often prefer being alone but the best and trusted ones can bring out my funny side 😅.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here to find friends and learn about local cultures. I would like to know more about the stories of people and how they can shape my view on and priorities in life.

Interests

I am interested in a lot of things, especially with language exchange. I believe that learning the local language allows me to see through the lives of people and the ones who preceded them. It's a way of giving me another lens to see the world and find positivity amidst the negativities.

I am also interested in listening to music. Right now I am binge-listening to Taylor Swift. Other than her, I listen to some rock bands such as Paramore (really my favorite). I also like singing and playing guitar, albeit a lousy one 😅.

I'd like to share my Filipino culture and the things that I've grown up with. I can probably try to cook our local cuisine, especially adobo (I'm still learning other Filipino dishes 😅).

I can also probably teach some college math if needed (I was a math tutor when I was in college and I have a bachelor's degree in physics, but that doesn't mean I know how to explain black holes right away 😅).
