About Me

ABOUT ME

I am well traveled and raised two children who turned out pretty well. I am passionate about environment, equity and clean energy which is my foremost advocacy in life.

My last adventure was to Kalbarrie National Park to look for a knife that my partner, Rodney, left in a rock cliff-face 27 years ago, (we didn't find it) and afterward, went snorkeling and camping at Geraldton. (It's too sexy a story to tell here.)

We own a 54 foot Catamaran moored at Mangles Bay, West Australia, and look forward to hosting some on board adventures from May 1, 2017. We will be heading north, over the top end, eventually arriving in Gladstone, Queensland, where the journey ends. Guests would share expenses and sailing/crewing duties.
A perfect adventure for couples and singles.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my solo days travelling the world prior to the www, I was very fortunate to meet people who put me up, eg. hosted me, because they enjoy meeting and helping people.
Having experienced and received the kindness of others, one is simply compelled to pay it forward, I reckon.

What is better, really, than experiencing and witnessing moments of joys of life, wherever you may find them?

Interests

I am an online environmental activist - anti-coal and 'pro' clean, safe energy and a pretty influential social media presence.

I am pretty good at latin dancing and usually endurance swim a kilometre per week. I like to see and experience the world around me - preferably where it is not 45C, trekking, camping, & photos along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies and books about space travel, real ocean adventures, science fiction, history and clean energy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to be a first mate on a whale watching/snorkeling charter in Hawaii on an old King Kamahamaha catamaran (wooden). One day we got caught out in a storm with a birthday party of children on board. The swell was 2 metres and I hung on to the trampoline under water most of the time - reefed the sail and dropped it before we crashed upon the rocks. Applause, applause, from the worried parents waiting ashore. (The event was 6 hours) I was meant to be there, I reckon.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My partner Rodney and I own an ocean cruising 54' Catamaran which we use purely for full on chilling out. Rod works FIFO, so we head out to the wild (ocean) blue yonder during his R&R. You are most welcome to join us if you are able to meet us ashore at Mangles Bay,
WA, when we depart for Queensland May 1, 2017. (Share expenses, chores and crewing duties.)

We have properties in Perth, Willetton WA and Cooliope,
Queensland with spare bedrooms which are pretty swanky, suit singles and couples.

Depending on where we are, we can certainly accomodate you provided you can pay your own expenses or share expenses via overland or oversea adventure seeing our beautiful world out there.
We will update our travel plans as we go.
