Overview
About Me
I have perhaps been influenced by the childhood I had more than any other stage of my life. Mine was a childhood spent mostly with my two brothers, one an identical twin one two years older, playing cricket on the streets, supporting rival English football clubs and fighting for time on the computer to play Civilization 3. Access to a computer from a young age played an indirect role in my decision to study computer science, which later led me to the United States in pursuit of more meaningful career prospects. My two years at the University of Florida went by in a flash. In terms of adjusting to a new life, no transition is easier for a South Indian than the university town of Gainesville, with ample food options, a large Indian (mostly student) community and the perfect weather conditions all year round. Now that I am employed, I want to get out of the comfort of my couch and see places I have read and heard about, and meet and spend time exploring the world with people from varied cultures and backgrounds.

Music, Movies, and Books
Almost all rock music of the 60s and 70s - Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Deep Purple, The Beatles, Yes (to name a few). If I may impart a word of advice about artists such as these, it is that the album experience is about 10 times as good as an individual song.
I love sci-fi and thrillers, especially the old ones. Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho is one of my all-time favorites. Then there is the mind-bending work of Stanley Kubrick.
Unfortunately I have not carried my reading habits on after high school, resulting in the Harry Potter series being my only memorable reading experience. Lately I have grown very curious about mythology, including Hinduism and Buddhism.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 7 I learned the capital cities of almost every country in the world. I still remember most of them. That knowledge made me more and more curious about the world and the variety of cultures that exist.
