Hi! My name is Arwin and I live in Eindhoven, The Netherlands where I'm currently studying Electrical Engineering.

I often go for a swim or a run to clear my mind (although if I'm a bit hungover I usually go for some yoga), so I'm quite an active guy although I don't participate on a high level in those sports.

During my studies I have been a volunteer bartender in a student bar where I met lots of people from Eindhoven, but I figured I'd also like to meet people from different countries, which is why I'm joining CouchSurfing.

I also like to tinker with electronics. If you're also interested in electronics I'd love to help you with hardware or software design or I can just show you my projects to give you some inspiration. I can help you get started if electronics is something you'd like to become better at. Maybe I can even fix some broken electronics you have laying around, but I give no guarantees as I'm also still improving my repair skills.

Lastly I'm a very laid back guy and have no problems adapting to others customs and rules. I do want to get to know a host, but I also don't mind doing my own business if that's preferred by the host.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to see some places around the world while also making new friends along the way. I haven't traveled much in the past, so I'm not an experienced traveler yet but I'm trying to become one! Couchsurfing seems like the perfect platform to make this happen and I'd like to be part of this community.

Music, Movies, and Books

There's lots of music I like. Generally I listen to rock, Dutch hip-hop, rap or pop.
I also enjoy sci-fi movies and series. If the movie or series has a time-travel aspect I'm even more excited (like Tenet, Predestination, Edge of Tomorrow or the series Dark).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a full marathon because someone dared me to and enjoyed it so much I'm planning to run more in the future!

On a random Sunday morning I helped a goat deliver a babygoat.

Teach, Learn, Share

This might be common knowledge, but I can teach how to very quickly tie your shoelaces.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll enjoy looking at broken electronics you might have and try to fix them. If you have something that's broken, let me know and I'll make sure to have my soldering iron and multimeter ready! (No guarantees though, as I'm still working on my electronics repair skills.)

If you enjoy typical Dutch dishes, I'll be able to cook you stamppot or hutspot. I can also bring some stroopwafels, drop or eierkoeken (or any other Dutch food).

Also, if you're into chess and would like a ego boost I can be your opponent as I'm still learning how to play the game well ;)
