Overview
About Me
I work in a human rights organisation in Malaysia, where I was born and bred. My work allows me to interact and engage with migrants and refugees, which is a humbling experience I enjoy, despite the challenges and struggles encountered along the way.
I love spending my weekends exploring the streets and corners of Kuala Lumpur, be it the diverse options of food, arts or nightlife hubs. I enjoy taking photographs and writing poetry, while on a more serious note, I try to dedicate significant amounts of my time reading up on world affairs and politics.
My favourite continent is Asia, specifically in love with South East Asia- with its grungy and often-unadulterated cities and towns. I'm not really good with cold weathers, and I love soaking up the sun, catching a tan and being at awe of the beautiful blue skies and fluffy clouds we often get here in this tropical subcontinent.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling isn't complete until you've met at least a few colourful people, be it locals or travellers, to add to the experience. With that, I'm keen to stay on Couchsurfing to meet new friends and share great travelling experiences and knowledge together.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is generally really diverse and general, with my Spotify playlists rotating in genres every few weeks. I enjoy genres from EDM & Hip Hop, to Rock and Alternative, now and again indulging in some tracks from Arabic, French and Spanish artists/bands. Currently, I've got my top playlists playing jazzy remixes and instrumental fusions.
A classic favourite film is Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.
My favourite kind of books would be mystery/thrillers, with the most notable author being Tess Gerritsen, while I also enjoy fiction novels which bring me closer to my native roots of Chinese cultures, such as novels from Lisa See.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I must have a pretty boring life, to not be able to think of something right off my head when the word 'amazing' is used, but I suppose the most significant adventure I can remember is spending two months in Cambodia volunteering a few years ago, or my few trips to Europe to participate in international youth leadership programmes. Call me a nerd, but I really enjoyed all of that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share with others some of the knowledge I've gained over the years, in regards to the realities faced by refugees and migrants all around the world, on top of the various significances of addressing human rights, from women and children, to human trafficking survivors.
I come across many people who don't know much about Malaysia or our beautiful city, Kuala Lumpur, from our culture to the basic socio economics (we don't live in trees!). It could be nice to share about my home with those willing to hear and share with me, a little about the places they call home too!
