I seriously need to work on my navigational skills. I can get lost in parking lots!

ABOUT ME

Doug and I live in Honolulu with my teenage son. I've lived on Oahu numerous times/years in my adult life and Hawaii is as close as I've gotten to putting down roots.
I love to travel but work and life commitments keep me mostly wanderlusting with occasional short trips. However, we plan on changing that in the next couple years when we take off on our rtw.
During the week, we're pretty boring but we enjoy our weekends.
We live practically walking distance from HNL, as well as the Arizona memorial, the USS Missouri and the stadium flea market (best place to get cheap souvenirs on island!)
It's about a 25 minute bus ride to Waikiki - more or less depending on traffic. We have an extra bedroom with full sized bed, ac, and cable. Typical nice, comfy, suburban family home ..... With a keg orator. (We like beer!)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We live in Hawaii. People want to come here. Couch surfers want to come here. We want to host. We might even be able to show some cs'ers around. But it's not all philanthropic. We're hoping our hosting karma pays up when we're off to see the world in a couple years. Until then we'll just have to live vicariously through cs'ers that we host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmmm, got chased by bandits on the Great Wall, chased down the streets of Sanlitunr by the Russian mafia, watched a hawkbill turtle lay eggs on an island in Belize, got wayyy too close to a hammerhead shark, climbed Fujisan, gone skydiving, partied with rock stars in Sydney, have been on tv and the cover of a magazine.
Bragged about it all! ;-)
