ABOUT ME

A background in firefighting, industrial equipment sales, private aircraft pilot, and safety/training coordinator positions brought me to where I am now, doing what I truly enjoy - teaching young minds about how our world and our universe works.
When not working, I build model airplanes, and tour the contryside with my wife on our motorcycles. As a family, we enjoy backpacking and camping - easy choices for fun since we live in the mountains of southern Oregon. (Scott)
I am quirky, intense, silly, passionate, eclectic, curious, and opinionated. Some of the things I like to do are; explore, people watch, garden, cook, eat, tinker, and read. I have traveled to main land China, Honk Kong, Taiwan, Germany, and Bulgaria for work (and some play) and to England for play. I like new experiences, order, and routine but am bored by constant repetition. (Karyn)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(Scott) - Hiked the Chilkoot Trail from Skagway, AK to Canada.
(Karyn)-I called to request a message at my hotel while in Taiwan. By the time I got off the phone from arranging the message I was questioning my judgment regarding what I had just agreed to. My intentions were to make an appointment that I would go to. Instead I had just agreed to allow a man to come to my room, blindfold me, and give me a message or so I had interpreted our conversation. Instead a blind man was escorted to my room. He spoke no English and I speak no Taiwanese but with his gesturing and firm hands we quickly communicated. It was the best massage I have ever had and I had the added pleasure of my internal giggling at myself.
