About Me

CURRENT MISSION

keep discovering
find people up for skitouring

ABOUT ME

Growing up in Germany and Austria made me love mountains. Over the past few years this turned from the regular downhill skiing to ski tours (or back country skiing if you call it that). In general I am always happy to find other mountaineers.
Obviously I am also into traveling in general and like to get to know new cultures. In fact the diversity is the big plus about London.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My most intense surfing times have been 7-9 years ago and I loved it. Every now and then I hosted some people which was also nice. Mostly nice conversations and interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In fall 2009 i made friends with Laurence who lived nearby
in january or febuary 2010 i surfed with liz in boston
in february i surfed with sylvain in québec
and in end of march and beginning of april i made a short tour arround the east coast (of the states):
nina in detroit
shannon in chicago
valerie and her friends in atlanta
kara in philadelphia
Went to Warsaw and surfed with a friend and then it was mainly hosting in Aachen, Cologne and Vienna.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: pretty much everything. Depending on the mood deep techno can be as interesting as the royal opera house, although I'd probably go for the latter, if I had the choice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

best thing was still being in a very remote hut in the mountains with no infrastructure apart from wood to cook snow and food. No internet, no phone connection, just snow and mountains to kick off a tour every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: skiing (especially in powder), climbing (all that savety stuff), how to handle the german autobahn at over 200km/h, how to celebrate karneval in cologne
Learn: About to learn russian, I wanna learn skydiving & motorcycling (wich is both gonna be a longer project), but especially, I wanna learn about your culture (cooking, traditions, behaviour, everything)
Share: many stories, travel time (come join me), a place to stay, when available

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking, stories, drinks, discussions, photos, an open ear (that sounds kinda strange, but I guess you know, what I mean), depending on the situation, some more stuff

Countries I’ve Visited
