About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience the world as best I can.

ABOUT ME

An old friend of mine, when we parted ways for the last time, said to me, "You're not a person; you're an experience." You can interpret that how you like, but I am definitely a little bit different, but not in a bad way. Depending on the situation, I can eccentric and outgoing - dancing and singing songs from Disney musicals - or I can be contemplative, poetic, and downright philosophical. (Also, my mom thinks I'm cool!) I have a vagabond heart, I am easygoing with people, and I live for the experience.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a "mental hedonist" if that makes any sense. I love feeding my mind - with knowledge, with wisdom, with culture, with experience. As such, I don't regret anything I've seen or done (even if I regretted them at the time). In a sense, the more I know, the more I grow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I share an apartment with a friend, so I'd have to get his clearance on anybody coming our way, but regardless I am more than happy to help out any in the Bay Area with tips on things to do. Until, that is, I'm out and about on my own adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had some great - and some kinda iffy - experiences via Kickstarter, having used it in Spain, Morocco, Kenya, South Africa, and elsewhere.

Interests

I am lucky enough to explore two of my interests - marketing and video games - in my day job. Outside of that, I love, above all else, thinking and creating. I am constantly coming up with new ideas for stories and enjoy sharing them. I also enjoy reading, exploring, animals, and generally being a part of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

On the music side, I tend to enjoy (or at least appreciate) most styles, though I find I tend to find myself listening to instrumental and choral most of the time. For books, I tend to either enjoy informative-yet-entertaining reads (think Bill Bryson), historical fiction, or classics. On the movie side, I find my favorites are all romanticized epics (Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, etc).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to narrow it down to one, but one of the most fun to mention out of context is that I was in an open-topped vehicle driving through a wall of flame during a brushfire.

Teach, Learn, Share

While some of my friends and coworkers call me a human encyclopedia, I teach best in a Q&A format, so feel free to ask me anything! :)
