About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Kill all my demons, and my angels might die too.

ABOUT ME

All about me... I drink too much coffee, and I make a kick butt cold-brew. I like to cook, but sometimes I wish I had a microwave. I really like yoga, but I dislike most other kinds of fitness. I enjoy hiking, but don't seem to make enough time for it. I hate red onions. I am full of contradictions, yet full of peace. I love to read and listen to books on tape. I love puppies of all shapes and sizes and I have this really annoying dog voice that comes out of me beyond my control when I see them. I like many different kinds of music and cannot play instruments or sing for crap. I love watching movies and it is very hard for me to dislike a movie whether it is mainstream or not. I passionately enjoy Harry Potter and the Twilight series. I am sporadically messy and sporadically clean. If I have company though, I make extra efforts to be clean. :) I love it when my dog tries to catch flies, it is one of the best things in the world to see. I have the most amazing friends. I've begun a new love affair with Tennessee Williams.

PHILOSOPHY

Question for taking action... It has 3 parts. Is what I am doing or considering helping me love God more, love my neighbor more, love creation more? If the answer is yes, then that seems pretty good to me.

Inside this new love, die.
Your way begins on the other side.
Become the sky.
Take an axe to the prison wall.
Escape.
Walk out like someone suddenly born into color.
Do it now.
You're covered with thick cloud.
Slide out the side. Die,
and be quiet. Quietness is the surest sign
that you've died.
Your old life was frantic running
from silence.
The speechless full moon
comes out now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am down to show folks around. I love meeting up at coffee shops and chatting away. I am around to be a listener, sharer, hiking buddy, dance partner, food sharer, skill sharer, surfer/host, co-show goer, lover of souls, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I worked for a non-profit for two years... Let's just say, couches have been my second home. However, those were all work people and I am excited to get some new faces and see some new places!

I have hosted several people now and I thoroughly enjoy it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have done, is go on a week long back country canoe trip. I am a fairly active person and enjoy hiking and the like. However, this trip was roughly 40 miles of canoeing and 17 miles hiking carrying all of our gear for the week long trip. It was in Algonquin Canada, which is amazing and so beautiful. I drank iodine treated water and enough trail mix to last a life time. I lost 10 lbs, but I gained so much more. I remember near the end of the week we were paddling in to where our vans were parked, and the wind was so cold it was freezing water droplets to our vests and faces. The wind was blowing against us, and I remember finally getting to shore and resting in the warm sun and feeling totally content with the world and everything around me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn more about gardening as it is one of my biggest desires in life. I know a little about living green and how to focus on bringing light and love into your life. I am fond of jewelry making and things of a creative nature. More so than anything, I just love having fun/making things/and having meaningful conversations.
