About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To achieve the things that make you happy, or be happy with what you have?

ABOUT ME

I used to play the trumpet a lot. Mostly doing jazz, although I spent a few years touring around the UK and europe with ska and rock bands which was crazy. Those years really shaped who I have become now, although now I spend a lot more time in an office working... I should put up some photos of me working... but they would all be boring!

Quiero mucho que aprender espanol porque quiero vevir en Espanol en algun momento. Pero, no hablo espanol muy bueno.

I have a supreme curiosity with the concepts of perfection and beauty. I just don't understand them, nor why I am relentlessly in pursuit of both. I work out at the gym a lot, even though the closer I get to the 'ideal' figure the more uncomfortable I seem to become with my body. I went Vegan for nearly 5 years but I still consider plants to be living and got myself all confused. I try to be funny but I almost never am. I want to be good at dancing but my body doesn't let me.

PHILOSOPHY

The finger pointing at the moon is not the moon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Even though I am a nice person, I seem to be really bad at sustaining friendships. I hope that meeting new amazing people will help me and inspire greater commitment from me.

I also just love novelty, and this comes through meeting new minds, new cultures, new ways of thinking. I think these things expand our personalities. I used to work in a hostel and i am not sure I can think of a time that I ever felt better, and more secure than my time living at that hostel. it saddens me to think that without couch suring the only other avenues for me for meeting new and interesting people seems to be by getting drunk and going clubbing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none! as of now, I am a virgin!

Interests

The things that excite me are: nature, the arts (including music!), using my body, eating well, meditation, always adopting a less is more approach to life, eastern philosophies, commnucation and expression - how wonderful that two people can say the same things but mean completely different things. How refreshing it is to communicate with and not get lost in the semantics of language, to not forget the honesty we are trying to express.

I struggle a lot with my inner person. I feel like he gets in the way of me just relaxing and enjoying life. I am interested in keeping him quiet so I have more time to pursue my interests. Anyone that can offer advice how to do this, I am also interested in!

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to read a lot of philosophy, but I don't think it helped me much. Philosophy is like the sun, we can use it to guide us, but it will blind us if we look directly at it.

Reading about swimming is not the same as swimming.

I am reading Courage by Osho, I Am That by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. Have attempted many times to get through Being and Nothingness by Satre, learning spanish with linkword, I enjoy reading Dan Brown books, but real conspiracy theories make me depressed.

I have such a bad movie knowledge. But i LOVE music. I really want to get into Opera more, but don't know where to start. I am the Jazz man! I really enjoy euphoric dance music from the likes of chilled out Chicane to Psy-trance. I love rock music, and I love dancing to Salsa or Reggaeton. But for me the music that makes me happiest has to be CHEESY. R kelly is de puta madre!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to travel across Mont Blanc (the tallest mountain in europe instead of taking the tunnel, in order to save a few euros, when on tour with our band. The van breaks down when we are right at the top. There is no van rescue up there, we have to somehow find a way to bring it and all of our stuff down the mountain!... And we need to do gigs because gigs = money. cancelled gigs = poor + van to pay for! Stepping outside and embracing the beauty around me. What a bitter-sweet moment.

That and probably seeing a naked man in one of our mosh pits once.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not sure if I have much to offer. I am kind of good at a lot of things, but not great at anything. I want to be a better dancer. I am fit, but I just don't know what to do with my body, or what it feels like when you are dancing 'right'. If you are a jazz musician we could play together. I cook well from time to time, but everyone has their bad days. I can show you that being vegan can be healthy and creative.
