ABOUT ME

Basic life story: Born in Malaysia, moved to the UK when I was 3 and been here ever since. Have family all over the world and spend as much time as I can all over the world. No reason to stop.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that traveling to other countries is a gift that a small minority of the world are able to experience. Those fortunate enough may spend time in developing nations and 3rd world countries and it should be remembered that the influence of our arrival and actions can be so dramatic, that it can change the culture of a country, destination or community. Such changes can be irreversible.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

What I want to do is help build the community, to meet like minded people - you never know when u will meet someone and how they will influence your life - I'm sure I a lot of people would agree. Give the community a chance and the community will take care of you. Keep spreading the word and the worthy will follow. I'd like to meet as many people from around the world as possible. I gain great happiness in the knowledge that I can integrate and learn from different cultures from around the world. And most importantly laugh and have good times!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have never couch surfed before. Got a some good friends who swear by it, met some great people for drinks and food in Vietnam and Spain. Will be meeting lots of people in London for drinks soon, so drop me a line!

Interests

Scuba diving, partying till the early hours, reading, environmental conservation. Climbing big mountains is cool and so is hiking through the jungle, anything to do with the great outdoors and nature. I'm a keen photographer and have considered making it my profession. I love to cook, thanks to my Malaysian family, I can cook some great Asian dishes and would love to cook more French and Spanish food.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love blues and jazz music, huge fan, but listen to all sorts. And of course the legends, Stones, Hendrix, CCR, The Doors! Just finished reading McMafia, find it and read it! Another book I recommend is The first and last freedom, Krishnamurti, very thought provoking. Would love to learn salsa properly, gave it try in Central America, need to try harder..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving with Thresher Sharks at 5am whilst suffering from a really bad dose of food poisoning, was amazing! Was at a teaching with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, was complex but thought provoking.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning about the experiences of world cultures, their life experiences. There are so many wonderful places and people in the world and the more I learn about the world, the happier I get, the more enjoyable life becomes and the more at home I feel.
