I'm a doctor and very commited to my friends, and to making new friends!
I love a good excuse for a party, and I love dancing even though I probably need to get a few more moves.
I also enjoy cooking and exploring the world through food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started CS hosting in 2012, and subsequently CouchSurfed while I was in the US to celebrate quitting my old job! I've made some very good friends, especially in the US, and had my eyes opened to the generous spirit that comes with Surfing.
Now that I've been back in Australia, I've had such great experiences with some of my surfers that I want to continue :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think the most important thing about CouchSurfing to me is the "community" philosophy. I've hosted Surfers who were doing it to better connect with the city they were visiting, some who want to meet people while they're traveling alone, and some just in it to save $.
The CS community I think is about more than just a free bed, and even if you're doing it because of financial motivation, I hope not to host "users" who don't have a friendly spirit.

Interests

I love meeting new people and engaging.

Music: Love Jeff Buckley, Powderfinger, Missy Higgins, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Michael Jackson (the music, not the rest!), Gotye, and occasionally trashy Europop.

Movies: Kill Bill; Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels; Labyrinth; Pulp Fiction; Fight Club; Anchorman; Zoolander

Books: The Alchemist; Samarkand; the Reacher series

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love sunsets and sunrises, though I'm usually too late for the latter. I think sunrise at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and sunset over lake Sibayi in South Africa would rate pretty high on my list.

Also magnets, they are pretty amazing ;-)

I make a mean Flambé Rum Banana dessert that I love to share the secret of!!
