ABOUT ME

I'm Ashley, hello pleased to meet you. So I'm me. A delightful ray of sunshine (or annoyingly optimistic and happy person) I love giraffes and bumblebees. I have no idea why....Bumblebees are cute in their own insect-like fashion, and giraffes are magnificent, with the most amazing eyes. I'm a bit confused on the most part, A lack of spacial awareness I think it is. I'm a bit clumsy and I have a tendency to bump into things. Generally a little shy, but outgoing all the same. Strange combination, but it works. Learning a lot everyday about something new keeps me me. Love my job, love meeting people, love doing crazy things. It's what life is all about.

PHILOSOPHY

Oh gosh. My own personal philosophy. Live how you see fit, not how someone else thinks it should be done. If you can see the beauty contained in the air right in front of you, you can soak up the beauty of everything in the world and all life has to offer. Have fun while you can, stay safe, and happy, and don't forget to sm:)e. Oh, and as my good friend Tinkerbell quite rightly states "Laughter is timeless, Imagination has no age, Dreams are forever"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

No loads really - but I'm looking at going away sometime soon, somewhere, and can't wait for my first Couch Surfing experience!! I attended a meet a couple of years back but fell off the planet for a while....and now I'm baaaaaaaaack!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A brilliant and very random meet in Norwich in April 2008 (I cannot believe that was over 5 years ago and still I have not "surfed" for real). It was an awesome night, and everyone was fab - looking forward to more adventures in the future =)

Interests

Travel, philosophy and nature mostly. I am really into intense and freak weather. I find it fascinating. I love pretty things and vast landscapes and find beauty in the strangest things.

While I am not really a doom merchant....okay....a little bit....I have contemplated trying to take over the world, restore peace and get rid of poverty....it's a grand plan in the making.

But on a more serious note I love a spot of arts, crafts and my love is flower aranging, but anything that involves making things look pretty gets my vote....and UNO....it's all about UNO when travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not really a fan of reading. However I do do it on the odd occasion. The DaVinci Code was amazing. I've also read The Secret, and I love the concept. My favorite films are...The Pursuit of Happyness; The Notebook; The Last Samurai; The Green Mile; Notting Hill and Forest Gump. Musically I like anything with a nice melody and with words that I can relate to - or anything that I can dance and throw some shapes to. I love dancing!!!! Dancing is like dreaming with your feet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went and did some voluntary work in South Africa about six of years ago, where has the time gone? Working within a small community. I did some teaching at the local school and met some amazing people. I'd love to be able to give those people the chance to have the same opportunities that I have. My only hope is that they will all realise their potential and nab that dream job of theirs. Every single one of them is very special. I miss them terribly, and if I could go back, I would without a doubt.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll happily learn anything from anyone. I am relatively open-minded, and love taking on board new concepts and learning new things.

I've not got a whole lot to teach at the moment. Just that all you need to do is stay positive, smile, and the world WILL smile with you. Smiles are catching,. If you smile at someone, well it could just brighten their day. Or they may just think you are a bit barmy!!
