About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Seize the day! You never know what is coming your way, so I take every chance to enjoy what is in front of me, or to do something memorable.
ABOUT ME
We are an American family currently living in Spain. We previously also lived in England and Germany. We travel as often as we can, and I really want to show my daughter as much of the world as possible while she is young and forming her views of the world.
I am a massage therapist, specializing in Women's Health. I also do freelance writing and photography. I have a passion for recovering lost kitchen arts, and am always looking for new things to learn-- recently I have been doing a lot of foraging, home brewing, meat curing, etc.
My husband works with children with disabilities, and plays the violin, and recently acquired an accordion, which he is eagerly learning.
We love to cook and eat, dance, play games, and travel.
PHILOSOPHY
In the words of Mary Oliver, “If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy, don’t hesitate. Give in to it.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We love to host and visit other people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Growing up, we had many guests and visitors. My family often hosted exchange students, or just took in people that needed a place to say. Many new faces showed up at our dinner table, and I loved the stories and new perspectives they brought! No family Christmas or Thanksgiving was complete without someone who was otherwise alone for the holiday...
I have slept on many, many pull-out couches, particularly as a child when my parents would take long road trips visiting friends across the States. I love meeting new people and sharing meals with them, so I am looking forward to creating some similar experiences for my little family.
So far, all of our couch surfing experiences have been really wonderful-- we have kept in touch with everyone who has visited us or whom we have been hosted by. It's wonderful to have friends all over the world!
