ABOUT ME
I've had several small adventures over the past 25 years: from living and working in Milford Sound, hiking through NZ's South Island for 7 weeks straight on Te Araroa, and traveling abroad for weeks/months at a time.
In between there's always been a home and (shudder) job to come back to, which is why I'm looking forward to an extended trip throughout South America this year. With no set goals, and no return ticket, I'm simply out to explore.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My first experience with Couchsurfing came during a trip to Tonga, where I was hosted by several incredibly generous Japanese volunteers. Since then, I've met a lot of other couchies who have stayed with me and with my friends. Overall it seems a great way to meet interesting people and experience the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking some 760km throughout NZ's rural South Island was certainly an experience, especially doing it alone! It's one adventure that's still waiting to be topped.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a qualified TESOL teacher, I may look for teaching work throughout my travels if/when I fall in love with an area. Also happy to volunteer and help friends with their English!
I've studied and played music for quite a few years now, I don't pretend to be a professional but hopefully we can teach each other something.
