ABOUT ME

Well hello there. I`m Ashley, a 27 year old non-practicing Interior Architect. Back in August of last year I quit my job, went to europe for three months and discovered couch surfing. Now I'm back in the states, just moved into my new home in Boulder, Colorado and can't wait to explore this beautiful place. I live with my roommate Doniree, her profile is here:

Couch surfing has been quite the experience! I have met the most inspiring, awesome people and have learned so much, one of my favorite parts about this trip (outside of european chocolate and german beer) but just started using couch surfing. Its been great so far and am really looking forward to surfing and now hosting more!

I am also an amatuer photographer who is never far from her camera. I love to bake and i will even cook (i can´t promise a very broad range of food though!) I am a lover of animals and have a bad tendency of approaching random people´s dogs to play with them. I don't have any animals though.

I am pretty independent and very easy going, you can just hand me a map and shove me out your door and I will be perfectly happy wandering around on my own if you don´t have the time to show me around. I love trying new things, as long as they don´t involve heights (I´m petrified!) and really love food so I will always be game to trying local cuisines. Mix good food with good conversation and you have my perfect day.

Neither my roommate or I smoke and prefer you don't as well but if you must, we have a lovely balcony for you to smoke on. We do love wine and always have multiple bottles on hand just in case. Boulder is a really great place so far and we look forward to exploring the nightlife and the natural surroundings!

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophies are changing, especially the more I am away from home and the more people i meet. I´m learning so much about what I want, and what I don´t want. For now, I am living my life to the fullest and loving every minute!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed all over Europe and now that I'm back in the states and getting settled in my new home, I am planning to host! Just as soon as we have furniture we will be happy to host people who are coming to Boulder or Denver!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far it has been great, with the exception of one bad incident. Definitely opened my eyes to a new way to travel, to new cultures and I have met the most amazing people. I even got to travel to Morocco with the first girl I couchsurfed with! I can´t wait to participate more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books-- Everything is Illuminated, Shadow of the Wind, The Kite Runner, 100 Years of Solitude, Water for Elephants, Eat Pray Love, the Harry Potter Series, Bitter is the New Black, Wolf at the Table (really, anything by Augusten Burroughs (Dry, Running with Scissors...), he´s one of my favorite authors!). I am currently reading Cold Mountain, really good so far!

Music--I love music and often crave the stimulation it provides. I love to hear new stuff and different types too! I currently am listening to a lot of Dido, The Killers, Muse, Massive Attack, Heather Nova, James Morrison, Jason Mraz and some all time favorites are: Coldplay, U2, Madonna, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Metallica...the list just could go on!

As far as movies...Love Actually, The Birdcage, Anchorman, The Notebook, Somethings Gotta Give, Hope Floats, the new Batman movies are pretty awesome, childrens movies such as Finding Nemo and Wall-E...recently The Hangover was hilarious and I cannot wait to see Where the Wild Things Are!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about different cultures and if you are willing to share a recipe for a local dish you happen to love, that´d be awesome!

I would love to offer my photography skills but my camera is currently broken and it just isn´t the same using my point and shoot camera. :( I would be more than happy though offering up my design skills!

I also am a quick learner in the kitchen and love to bake!
