ABOUT ME

I am always open to adventure and challenges. The years that I have been on this earth I have been blessed with the compassion it takes be a mother to two children (gained wisdom along the way). The patience and inspiration to impart my knowledge onto those who wanted to learn, and be a teacher to the children of others from countries all over the world. I have had the courage and opportunities to see some wondrous places and haven't begun to slow down my travels yet. I have had the creativity and the ingenuity to cook for many mouths, and had the determination and yearning to learn all that has been available to be taught to me. Meeting some wonderful people who have become great friends.

I am very health conscious and an avid believer in organics. Vegetarian,spiritual and open to all people, races, religions, young and old.

I am easy going, love to read and trek through jungles and up mountains. I love to laugh, even at myself!

While I love Australia very much, I am searching the World for a place to settle for awhile.

This trip,(from Nov. 2010 to Nov 2011) I am travelling with my daughter who is 18 years old and taken a gap year from University study.

I am a non smoker but like the occasional drink. Beer, Jack Daniels or a nice red wine.

Although I am new to Couch surfing, I was a member of WWOOF for many years, hosting people from all over the world on my organic farm that I had in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

My children had a wonderful experience growing up learning about other cultures and gaining a knowledge that I feel all children should have. It breeds respect, tolerance and kindness, traits many people lack nowadays.

UPDATE: Just about to leave Sri Lanka for Costa Rica (3.12.13) where I hope to find a teaching job and settle for a while.

PHILOSOPHY

I am always grateful for what I have. My friends, my family, my life. It is a great life!

I love the sun and the beach, I love meeting new people and trying new foods. I love food, the tastes, the smells. Nothing better than cooking and enjoying a great meal (and some good red wine) with friends, laughing and sharing experiences.

I am happiest when I am travelling, not stuck in the boredom of the mundane.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment only surfing - meeting wonderful people and enjoying good times. Soon will repay the favour to all of my new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I have been travelling it is difficult to always know that couch surfing events are on. I have been contacted a few times while in a country to join them for an outing but am usually on my way to another place by the time I get the message. I did however, in Turkey get the opportunity of seeing a couch surfer´s band Takatuka. It was fabulous, they played Gypsy Balkan music. I will never forget it.
