About Me

Hey, my name's Asher and I'm a 22 year old Philosophy PhD student from New Zealand, and I'm lucky enough to be back in Europe for a few months in 2020!

I love doing outdoor activities, cooking (and eating), and meeting new people! I was raised by two mothers and so am very LGBT friendly, and likewise, I am very friendly towards vegetarian and vegan hosts. Also I'm very easygoing - if all you have is a floor to sleep on,,or a tent in the garden, I won't complain!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting different people from all over the world. I grew up in a very international upbringing - my family hosted people from all over the world to stay with us. Now I'm the traveller!

Interests

I’m passionate about outdoor sports, such as Hiking, Rock Climbing, Whitewater Kayaking, Canyoning, Caving, and Mountain Biking. Additionally, I like to play board games with my friends and have organised/participated in weekly sessions of role playing games.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into reading fantasy and sci fi, especially when there's a deeper philosophical issue to ponder. I'm also a big film buff, and I love arthouse cinema & discussing films after watching them. Music I like everything :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best day of my like was when I was camping in Jasper, Canada, and I did an improvised 33km hike in the forest where I got to see lots of beautiful lakes and wildlife. Later that evening I had a picnic with some other travellers and we went cliff jumping followed by a bbq. Such a great experience

Teach, Learn, Share

I love vegan cooking and baking, so I can definitely help out in that regard! I also grew up in a bilingual environment speaking maori and English, so I can teach you the basics of the language and maybe a few songs if you'd like :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great discussions about outdoors, travelling, and the meaning of life. Help out around the place (I secretly enjoy doing housework), and help with cooking! I'm pretty easygoing and am up for pretty much anything
