Overview
About Me
You could say I'm in love with movement. I value honesty and experience.
I've spent the last 10+ years traveling (with my home base remaining mostly Chicago). More recently I've been spending a lot of time in France as well. In the US, I travel and work by delivering large trucks, motorhomes and buses all across the country---and Canada. That allows me to visit friends and make new ones.
Language is one love of mine, which is why I'm always trying to learn a new one. Most recently I've gotten pretty good at French. I also love building and making things, though that's often a challenge with the interrupted life I live. Woodworking is the most common expression of that love and I've made a couple pieces of furniture that I'm proud of.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Every time I've stayed with a host or hosted someone, I've learned and they have too. That sounds canned but it's true, and it aligns with my daily aim to connect with people I'd never have met otherwise. Through strangers I've learned languages, gotten and given jobs, and learned about so many things I didn't know that I didn't know.
Interests
Cycling, reading, seeing, building, picture-taking, watching, conversing, changing. I have done a fair share of stage acting, improv, and a small bit of sketch comedy.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm currently reading John Steinbeck's Travels with Charley in Search of America, though I managed to forget it at someone's house. I highly recommend it, I enjoy Steinbeck's sardonic reflections on his changing country.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Biked alone from Madrid to Angers, France.
