About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning, loving, dancing, singing, reading, chilling, and jumping in puddles.
ABOUT ME
Hopefully a perpetual student, I love to learn and getting paid to go to college sounds like a delicious plan. Once I get my PhD my husband would love to go back to graduate school... and perhaps we will spawn some overlords.
PHILOSOPHY
Be excellent to everyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed once and hosted once, and hung out with the local couchsurfers quite a bit. I hope to do more hosting and surfing soon, they were fun experiences with people I wouldn't have run into otherwise.
Interests
Mad science! plants, trees and all things green; good tea and good wine; cooking, baking, grilling, feeding people; localization and self-sufficiency, along with wilderness survival; expanding horizons whenever possible. Salsa and other Latin dancing until my legs fall off!

Music, Movies, and Books
Gosh, too many to list...
New loves include Neil Gaiman, China Meiville and Jane Austen. Also try the Cryptonomicon if you love WWII stories and crazy convoluted high tech mysteries.
I shall confess... his characters are all the same people, and the countries are all the same too, but I still enjoy curling up with David Edding's Belgariad and Mallorean.
Watership Down, Maia and Shardik by Richard Adams, The Tower series by Anne McCaffery, The Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, the first three books of the Dune series by Frank Herbert, Pyrdain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander, Chronicles of Narnia and The Screwtape Letters by C.S.Lewis, Probability series by Nancy Kress, everything by Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Ray Bradbury, Timothy Zahn's trilogy of Star Wars novels, Homer, Aristophanes, Euripides, Sophicles, Ovid's Metamorphoses, any graphic novel I can get my paws on, Tom Robbins and Steve Jackson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've climbed to the top of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet... The altitude is 11,975ft! Five steps feels like running three stories at sea level. I'd go back in a heartbeat though!
Countries I’ve Visited
China, France, Germany, Norway, Switzerland
Countries I’ve Lived In
United States
