ABOUT ME

I am a 21 year old California girl who is excited to see the world! I am very friendly and kind but can get shy around new people. Once I get to know you, I really open up. I am a very outgoing and open person once I get comfortable around people. I feel as though I am a confident individual who knows herself well, and I try to carry myself as such. I am also VERY passionate about my ideals and interests, so it's not unusual for me to get excited once we hit a topic of interest!

PHILOSOPHY

Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself.

I truly believe this and try to live my life accordingly. There is no "hidden person" within yourself that you passively come to find over time, it's an ever-changing, ever-evolving self that you personally create and mold through the actions you chose to take and the dreams you plan to achieve. Determination in key, and I wholeheartedly believe that if you want something badly enough, you can get it as long as you do all in your power to obtain it! This is of course restricted by morals and laws :-) Overall, creating yourself and respecting the rights of others to do the same is what I live by.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am studying abroad in Germany at Goettingen, and I only have four months in Europe to explore. My main objective is to be able to experience all I can here in Europe before I have to return to the States.

Interests

I have so many interests, but my main passion is music. I grew up in a musical family, and nothing makes me happier than performing or enjoying music! I mostly listen to Rock, but I especially enjoy Classical, jazz, musicals, Opera, alternative, and just about anything else. I am open to new music as well, so just about anything flies.

I am also really interested in films and culture. Though I may not know as much about these areas as I do about music, I always want to know more. I am fond of action movies and generally do not like "chick flicks" with a few exceptions. It is my goal to see as many movies as I can in order to expand my knowledge of them.

I also like reading, though lately I have been interested in Vampire stories or horror. Anne Rice, Stephan King, and Edgar Allan Poe rock my world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the mos amazing thing I have ever seen was when I was in Germany for the 2006 World Cup and when President Obama was elected. Both times people were running around in the streets screaming with joy. Cars were honking for hours and everyone was in a state of utter amazement and happiness. Hands down the most spectacular thing(s) I have ever witnessed.
