About Me
STORY ABOUT US:
JD and Ashley met in Spring 2010 randomly in Montgomery Alabama, Ashley from Massachusetts and JD from Alabama knew there was something more. They got married June 2,2012 on the family farm in Massachusetts. We headed out shortly after and took a road trip to every state in the US. We couch surfed and had the time of our lives, we’ve been to 15 countries since then and We now live in black mountain NC ! We recently had a baby boy who is 9 months old and full of happiness:)
JD is a musician singer/songwriter so he spends a lot of time in Nashville, and Ashley loves to hike, garden and raise chickens.
Our live have changed a bit since the baby but we still love to have travelers come through and stay. Our acceptance will depend on whether Jd is home to host as well:)
PHILOSOPHY
Do everything you don't want to regret not doing later.
Pay attention to being in the right place at the right time, it will happen if you're happening.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by offering international friendship and a place for people to stay on their travels!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
John and I have had tons of amazing couchsurfing experiences traveling America meeting people and their families, learning from each other and making unforgettable memories!
When we are home we've also hosted a bunch of great people, it's always a good time!
Interests
We will try anything once or twice.. We are ambitious, adventurous, and all around good people (or so we've been told).. I spend a lot of time outdoors: Trail Running, Daydreaming, Hiking/walking, biking, rock climbing, camping, beaching, gardening, and Raisin Chickens
John writes and plays music, and loves to eat good food. (He's a southern man, and I'm a northern girl) so you can image the dynamics;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked to Machu Picchu via the Inca trail!
Bungee Jumping, Skydiving, I've seen a cow give birth, trained chickens to run on call, Milked a goat!! Been to almost all the 50 US states, lived in Australia, hugged a Redwood tree.
We have been blessed to met and spend time with people from all different cultures, religions, and regions of America to learn more about ourselves through learning more about the people who make up "US".

Inspiration.. the key to creativity.
"Strangers are the friends you have not met yet."
If you like couchsurfing, check out "WOOFing" as well. You volunteer on Organic farms in the US, and across the world. The farms vary in their expectations but the general expectation is: You work 30 hours a week for a free place to stay and 3 organic meals a day, and you meet the most amazing down to earth people and learn a lot of great things about food, farming, and the "simple life".
