About Me

I enjoy learning about other people and cultures, especially through food and music. I teach music at an elementary school for work. I have gotten the travel bug real hard over the couple years and have taken 3 sizable trips as a result. There are so many interesting people to meet and places to visit!

I am new to Couch Surfing, but I really hope that won't deter hosts from accepting me as a guest. I will respect your home and time. I will take responsibility for splitting costs if we cook together, and share other expenses we may encounter as part of the CS experience. I'm excited to become a positive member of this group!

Activities:
I like to take walks, especially with my dog while not traveling, and go hiking and camping. I've also tried my body at outdoor sport climbing, but usually prefer to climb indoors for ease of set up and equipment. I sometimes cycle commute when the weather permits and enjoy a leisurly scenic ride on the weekend. During the growing seasons, I love buying from farmers markets and cooking fresh dishes.

I also try to hit up the local music and entertainment scenes regularly. Many of my friends are artists and I am very inspired by their creativity and perspectives on life. I'm hoping to find ways to get more personally involved in the arts and culture scene, either in Seattle or wherever else life may take me. There's rarely something more powerful than a meaningful human connection.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet people through travel and share some experiences through the lens of a local. I want to get to know the people I meet through CS, though I am also completely comfortable taking my own lead if a host has other plans for the day.

I have not yet had the opportunity to host, but I look forward to sharing Seattle with others. It'll also be a great motivator for keeping my apartment clean!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I motor biked, for the first time ever, around Ometepe, in Nicaragua.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- I can teach you some American children's folk songs, some that have quirky back stories.

Learn- I want to learn about the foods you ate as a young child, and the songs you learned when you were little.

Share- We can share the opportunity to create a new experience and memory.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories of course, and I will also help with cooking/dishes/keeping the area neat. I will offer a gift, though I welcome a little guidance. Some people enjoy flowers, candles, wine, or something else, and if I have backpack space, I may have something from my travels. Please share your likes when we message.
